Academics
NURSERY

This section consists of Pre. KG., L.K.G, and U.K.G classes. In L.K.G, the children are taught mostly through play way, Montessori and Kindergarten methods. They are introduced to the English language and numbers. More importance to the education of the TINIEST of our lot is given. (K.G. at work, at play, exhibition Photos). We follow a unique pattern of teaching difficult concepts through a sustainable methodology (HAPPY TOTS).

PRIMARY

This section consists of classes I to V. Children learn English, Languages ,Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Science, General Knowledge, Arts and Craft, Moral Science, Physical Education and Computer Science. To expand the educational horizon of the growing children and increase the content apart from Samacheer syllabi, we have utilized the services of Auuro Educational System. Students are given systematic practice in order to bring out their best in Conversational English.

We have introduced the E-LAB facility wherein the children are exposed to usage of difficult and multi – syllabic words. Maths Lab is another speciality of our institution wherein even difficult and fundamental concepts in Maths are made easier by playway learning.

The school has well-stacked library with awesome collection of books on various topics and every teacher sees to it that the students make the best use of this facility in order to acquire intensive reading practice.

Phonemic exercises are taught to tune the young minds. We are the tied-up member of LIGHT CHANNEL. Through these systems we ensure that the children of our institutions traverse on a better platform regarding fundamentals.

SECONDARY

This section consists of classes VI to X. Students are exposed to English, Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Moral Science, Fine Arts, History, Geography, General Knowledge, Physical Education and Computer Science.

Students are given systematic practice in order to bring out their best in Conversational English.To improve the students’ accent, pronunciation and presentation, we have introduced the E-LAB facility wherein the children are exposed to usage of difficult and multi – syllabic words.

Junior Labs are a boon to this section as the students are exposed to using the various tools and thereby developing a creative brain. Phonemic exercises are taught to tune the young minds.

We are the tied-up member of LIGHT CHANNEL.Guest Lectures on various topics including career guidance are arranged and eminent speakers provide valuable material to the students.

HIGHER SECONDARY

This section consists of XI and XII classes. Students study English, Language (Tamil/Hindi/French/Sanskrit) and any four subjects from the following combinations –

Group I A Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science
Group I B Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Group I C Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Group II Commerce, Accountancy, Economics, Business Mathematics
Commerce, Accountancy, Economics, Computer Applications.
ATTENDANCE

Every student should attend the school for not less than 90% of the working days in each term and not less than 200 working days in the full academic year. No student should absent himself/herself without prior permission. For ‘sick leave’ the student will be required to produce the medical certificate. A student is liable for punishment due to absence without leave letter or for involving in malpractices. Various prizes will be given to students at the end of the academic year for regularity in attendance and also for their general proficiency.

TRANSFER CERTIFICATE

Application for a Transfer Certificate (T.C) should be made in writing by the parent with the prescribed fee. T.C. will be usually given in a week’s time. No Transfer Certificate shall be issued unless all the fees due for the class last attended have been paid. Students leaving the school in the middle of the term must pay the school fees for the full academic year.

CO CURRICULAR AND EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Classes from VI onwards take part in interactive clubs for each subject. These clubs are inaugurated at the beginning of each academic year by eminent personalities. They function once a month thereafter. Debates and discussions are part of the club activities. These sessions help students enhance their creative skills and competitiveness.

The school also pays equal attention to extra- curricular activities like Music, Dance, Drama, Karate, Yoga, elocution, Debate, Project work, Scouts & Guides, Road Safety Patrol and N.S.S .

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Science and Art exhibitions are held for the students to showcase their diverse talents. These programmes help the students to develop their public speaking skills and also to enlighten the students on topics such as Global Warming, Environmental Pollution, hazards of tobacco, culinary skills, painting and a host of other subjects. These exhibitions involve students, parents and teachers participation . Students are given ample opportunities to showcase their talents in drawing. Pidilite Industries Ltd held a Mega Canvas Board Painting Competition in which over all the students took part in the on- the- spot drawing competition. The event later entered into Limca Book of Records (Photos). In brief , the school aims at imparting not just bookish knowledge but various programmes like seminars and workshops, activities like Excursions and Field trips which help them not only to enrich their knowledge but also the social values like self-help, love, camaraderie and affection.

CAREER GUIDANCE

A carrier Guidance Programme was conducted on 05/02/2020 for IX, X and XI Std students of Sree Venkateshwarar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Royapettah, Chennai 14 under the aegis of Mrs.Gayathri Mohan, the Head - CSR Department SOPRA STERIA (IT Company), Siruseri, OMR, Greater Chennai. To her credit she was the recipient of several awards such as “RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS LEADER AWARD &INTERNATIONAL INSPIRATION AWARD”. In her address to the students she highlighted the importance of education & the need for good behaviour simultaneously. She also conducted an online test on the topic, “MY CHOICE, MY FUTURE” for the 116 students of X Std to ascertain the aim & attitude of students about their academic carrier in future. Mrs.Gayathri was kind enough to spare a few hours to counsel about 15 students of XI Std students whose academics performance was little lower than the others & encouraged them to exel in their studies & general behaviour. This programme was an energising one for the students who are in need of an extra push to stay focused in their studies. This session also helped the students to increase their level of confidence to achieve their aim thro’ merit & by winning scholarships. She smartly conducted the programme by engaging the students following many techniques without distraction like showing their skillset to work in teams and their smart presentations on current topics. The Principal thanked Mrs.Gayathri & her team members for their voluntary effort which boosted the innate goals and talents of the students.
